these collages are inspired by the collages of Erin Case. I really enjoy taking photos of my students as a mode of one-on-one interaction in a creative way. I give the photo to the student and they use the pieces of their photo to create stencils and replace parts of their face and body for another image. this is a very straight forward way to explore juxtaposition, layering, and the theme of identity.

cityscapes
Students created these cityscapes by sketching two layers of neighborhood housing and a background layer of downtown buildings. Then students used markers and water -and- watercolor paint to fill in the buildings and sky. Finally students outlined the buildings and details with markers.
